This allows you to reference them during your session and ensures that you spend less time figuring out what you’re working on.
Try to work through your assignments before the session. This will help you pinpoint specific questions and areas of confusion. Plus, your tutor can assess your work to see what you already understand and where you might need more guidance.
Tutoring is not the same as a lecture; it’s an interactive learning experience. Be prepared to actively participate. Come with goals for your tutoring session. Your tutor will guide you with strategic questions, helping you deepen your understanding of the material and enabling you to apply concepts to future problems.
Understand that mastering course material often takes time. Most students will need more than one session to fully grasp difficult concepts. In fact, many students discover that regularly attending tutoring sessions during a challenging course is helpful for reinforcing their understanding and keeping them on track.
